IB Classifieds: The Rules

Cars for Sale:

Our policy is no replies in cars for sale threads. Marketplace Discussion is for talking about cars for sale, including those advertised here.

  • Cars For Sale is for PRIVATE SELLERS ONLY.
  • ALL ADS MUST HAVEA PHONE NUMBER.
  • ALL ADS MUST HAVE A PRICE.
  • Ads will only be accepted from paid subscribers.

Thread approval moderation is enabled in this forum, so your post will not be displayed immediately. If it meets the above then I'll switch it on. Any questions/comments PM me.

Parts for Sale:

  • Sellers must be paid community members
  • PRIVATE SELLERS ONLY
  • Sales must be for items YOU are selling, not stuff for a mate who doesn't have the Internet
  • All items MUST have a selling price: no auction sales. For help with a value before listing, use marketplace discussions.
  • If you intend on advertising your parts elsewhere simultaneously, please mention this when posting.

DO ALL DEALING IN THE THREAD

This is a forum for grown-ups, therefore 'dibs' and 'PM Sent' carries no weight in parts sales. Do all dealing in the thread.

All sales must have a price. If you like the price say "I WILL HAVE IT", then seller agrees and then you both go to PM to sort the money and postage etc. Otherwise post a bid on the item, but if someone else says "I will pay full price" then they get it. You do not have the right to increase your offer after someone else offers the asking.

First person to say they will buy it, buys it. Disputes over who should have had first call will be adjudicated by mods: improper conduct may lead to suspension.

This is a simple system used on many other forums which saves a lot of grief for mods and forum owners when stuff goes on behind closed doors. Please stick to this method or sell your parts somewhere else.

Archived Sales

Ads over three months without reply or update will be archived.

Parts Prices and Discussion

Sellers can ask whatever they like for parts. Negative comments from non-buyers on pricing in a sales thread will earn them a break from the board. Genuine buyers may (politely) explain a lower offer.

We have a forum to discuss the parts market and parts prices. Flaming someone else's sale is not the way to do it. If the seller is consistently advertising parts at silly prices, then moderators will sort that problem.
