After two years of Porsche ownership, the standard club stuff was getting me down. I wanted a group that enjoyed getting their hands dirty, and went on real drives and track days. No such group existed, so I started the ImpactBumpers.com Porsche forum.

Back then, the impact-bumper Porsche 911 was the poor relation. The 2.7 911S was ignored completely, the 911 SC was listed as a starter car one would soon upgrade from, and every buyers' guide said 'buy a G50 3.2' or 'buy a 5-speed Turbo': all disinformation we have helped to overturn.

The Impact Bumper Porsches were made for 16 years, from 1974 to 1989. Porsche built Coupé, Targa and Cabriolet body styles: something for everyone. There's much more to IB life than just an '89 Turbo or '87-'89 3.2 Carrera, so take all so-called expert opinion with a massive dose of salt.
